Domestic air conditioning Showroom
Space Airconditioning plc, the award winning Guildford based Daikin distributor is one of few major players in the industry making a significant investment in the developing market for residential air conditioning. A new dedicated showroom is just one example of several marketing initiatives Space Air has undertaken.
"We are now ready and pleased to welcome visitors to our new residential air conditioning showroom in Guildford ". Announces Neil Afram, Managing Director of Space Airconditioning plc. "The new facility displays systems in an "as installed" situation, such that indoor units can be seen against a neutral background representing walls and ceilings. This differs from our main equipment showroom where all the units are exposed, as they are also used for training purposes."
Neil Afram continued, "The showroom was planned following the success of the Space Air Solutions showhouse at the 2004 Ideal Home Show. Any home-owner considering an investment in climate control will no doubt appreciate the opportunity to see and experience all the Daikin options available today. This is a permanent exhibition, designed specifically for end users and in response to an increasing market for residential air conditioning."
On exhibition is a wide selection of products from the Daikin range, all of which are designed or suitable for residential and the smaller commercial application.
The smartly designed and subtly lit showroom, features various wall and floor mounted fan coil units, above ceiling concealed units and cassettes. These units all convey the distinctive functions and properties that are considered to be particularly important to the residential market, such as silent operation, stylish and compact designs and energy efficiency.
The fan coil units are all operational, being piped to examples of single split and multi-split inverter heat pump condensing units sited in an area adjacent to the room. Also featured is the new compact VRV II-S. This new innovative system has been designed to bridge the gap between Daikin's versatile range of split systems and the larger capacity VRV II. This system is particularly appropriate to showcase as it is ideal for residential application or the smaller commercial projects. Up to 9 indoor units can be connected to a single outdoor unit and there is a range of 12, super-quiet, indoor fan coil unit styles available, making the VRV II-S a highly adaptable system. All the heat pump systems on display operate on single-phase electricity supply, again an important factor in most residential installations.
A series of Mizushi Portable air conditioning units are on display and demonstrate an alternative for fixed climate-control systems.
For those considering heat recovery ventilation for the home, a Daikin HRV system has been set out on a wall area in the form of a schematic drawing but with all the actual hardware in position. This particular system has been specially developed for the home-owner, by Space Air, and features all push-fit components. No special installation skills are required and so, apart from the electrical connections this particular system could be considered a DIY product, subject to following the clear guidelines drawn up by Space Air design engineers.
Also on display, Daikin's Siesta deodorizing air purifiers are presented in an attractively lit, revolving cabinet to create a focal point in the centre of the room. They can be seen fully working and viewed in cut-away form so that the five filtration processes are clearly visible.
Existing dealer installers, consultants, architects, interior designers or, of course, end-users are welcome to visit the showroom at any time during normal working hours or by appointment at weekends. A member of the Space Air sales team can accompany visitors and demonstrate the fully operational air conditioning; presenting the opportunity to feel temperature changes and hear sound levels. Full technical details are clearly displayed and an assortment of literature is available.
The showroom is intended to provide clear, accurate data for the consumer. The information provided can be easily interpreted by the end user and avoids confusing 'technical jargon'.
"We believe this facility, dedicated to residential air conditioning and complete with the latest fully operational Daikin technology, is a great asset and will be a valuable addition to our existing and already much visited commercial equipment showroom. We foresee an increasing demand for the benefits air conditioning can offer the home-owner, particularly now VAT rate for Air to Air Heat Pump installation has been reduced to just 5%," concluded Space Air's Neil Afram.
