Space Air Charity Events

Staff from across our five sites have been involved in various activities to raise money not only for our chosen charity for 2014 (The Guide Dogs for the Blind) but also for Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Awareness and Save The Children.

Starting back in September with an event as part of “The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning” with Macmillan Cancer Support. Several members of staff at our Guildford head office baked an amazing selection of cup cakes and biscuits to sell. Not only was there a selection of treats on offer but we also sold Macmillan raffle tickets. Over the course of the day we raised £118.22

Another one of our fantastic charity events turned out to be a hit with all members of staff. This time it was “Wear Pink” for Breast Cancer Campaign. More cakes and buns were baked by members of staff and with a small donation staff could adorn themselves with as much pink as possible raising a total of £100.

November saw us taking part in the Guide Dogs for the Blind “Wear It Blue” day. Raising £55 for wearing as much blue as possible, including donations to play pin the tail on the puppy.

We have recently raised further funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind with a couple of Christmas events, which included a raffle and a guess the weight of the Christmas cake competition. A selection of prizes had been donated by staff and local businesses to help raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity. To add additional donations on the day, staff were invited to guess the weight of a locally baked Christmas cake bringing in a grand total of £247.

Finally the company took part in the national Christmas Jumper day in aid of Save the Children. For a donation we could wear our best or ugliest festive sweater, which raised a total of £65.

Overall it’s been a fabulous effort by all members of staff throughout the year and we look forward to more events throughout 2015.
